(Source: ITF - International Tennis Federation) Joachim Gerard is far too modest a man to suggest that he is now the man to beat after defeating the legendary Shingo Kunieda twice in four days to become the new NEC Wheelchair Tennis Masters champion. He has to record a few more than just two wins against the great man to be seen as a serious challenger, perhaps his most serious, never mind the new ruler. Just three days ago his record against the Japanese three-time NEC Masters Champion stood at 0-10. Nevertheless, a new order has to happen sometime and perhaps - just perhaps - this was the time. Few new champions have run to the finish line with greater dash: Gerard won the last six games....
